A POPULAR Marlow hairdresser reopened its doors nine years ago this week after a devastating fire destroyed the shop, forcing it to close for more than three months.
A fire wrecked Haringtons Hairdressers in Marlow High Street on January 4, 2012, with the shop not reopening until April 16 that year.
The blaze gutted the hairdresser, leaving it to be completely refitted.
At the time, director David Lambert said: “It is devastating news for our staff and clients, but we are very grateful that no one was injured in the fire.”
It was, however, business as usual for the staff who carried on cutting hair at the Beaconsfield branch.
The hairdressers reopened with a £200,000 refurb on April 16, with the salon saying at the time the refit took six weeks.
The reception area was improved, state-of-the-art lighting was installed, luxurious, ergonomically designed leather chairs were fitted, and the backwashes featured reclining, shiatsu massage chairs.
Mr Lambert said ahead of the reopening: “The Marlow team members are super excited to be returning home and can’t wait to see all their clients again.
“You can virtually smell our complimentary freshly ground coffee being brewed already.”
