The Bucks Free Press were praised in the House of Commons for our coverage on the death of His Royal Highness the Prince Philip.
After the Duke of Edinburgh passed away on Friday, April 9, several of our reporters produced numerous articles, as well as a blog, to get reaction from all over the county.
We also explained what now happens to the Royal Family, as well as reminding residents and readers of the Prince’s previous visits to Buckinghamshire.

The praise came from Buckingham and Conservative MP, Greg Smith, who said on Monday, April 12: “On behalf of everybody across the Buckingham constituency, I send my deepest condolences to Her Majesty and the whole royal family on the passing of His Royal Highness the Prince Philip.
“I want to put on the record my deep admiration for all that he achieved and sacrificed throughout his life—a life of service, charity and family.
“First and foremost, he will rightly be remembered for the incredible manner in which he has supported Her Majesty the Queen.

“In his own right, His Royal Highness completed 22,000 solo royal engagements.
“It has been wonderful to look through the collection of images from his various visits to Buckinghamshire published by the Bucks Free Press over the weekend.”
The Prince’s funeral will take place on Saturday, April 17 at 3pm at Windsor Castle – the same venue as his passing.
