A “MASSIVE” pile of fly-tipping dumped on a path in a residential area took a clean-up crew ‘14 hours in total’ to clear – and one person claimed the problem had been reported “several times” over the years.
Cllr Julia Wassell praised her team of seven volunteers who spent two hours clearing a path off Hatters Lane in High Wycombe of oil drums, plastic, scrap metal and household waste.
The Wycombe Independent wrote on social media on April 2: “We had a great team of seven for two hours – 14 hours work in total.”

A number of residents said “well done” and “great job” in response.
One person replied: “I’m really pleased this is done Julia as I’ve reported it several times over the years and nothing was done.”
Speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS), Cllr Wassell said: “I couldn’t believe there was another pile.”

On social media she wrote: “A massive pile of fly-tipping, nine oil drums, clothes, household waste, plastic and scrap metal were cleared today (April 2) just off Hatters Lane above The Roperies.
“Residents had let us know about this and turned up to help. We had a great team of seven for two hours – 14 hours work in total.”
She added: “Thanks to all who helped.”
A Bucks Council spokesman said: “Incidents of fly-tipping should be reported via the FixMyStreet online tool, which also allows people to include any evidence they have of who has deposited the waste.
“Where evidence is available, the council will investigate the matter and prosecute individuals or businesses if they can be shown to be responsible.
