A petition has been launched to try and save a mobile pizza business in Milton Keynes.
A Pizza This, which is based by Willen Lake South in the town, was told by the Parks Trust who owns the land, that their contract will end on May 31.
According to the family-run business, A Pizza This will not have its contract extended as plans for a new café/restaurant ‘which has a focus on woodfired pizza’ by the lake have been approved.
An excerpt from their Twitter statement that was published on March 27, read: “This came as a complete shock to us, as I’m sure it will to our wonderful customers too, as we were led to believe that we were part of the future plans of Willen Lake South.
“We have been told that our contract not being renewed is related to the new café/restaurant that is currently being built, which has a focus on woodfired pizza and who have been given exclusivity for hot food at Willen Lake.
“We left our jobs to pursue this dream and we cannot let these last four years go to waste.
“We have put everything into our independent business and have made some great friendships with customers along the way.
“We have always had incredible support from our customers and now we need your support more than ever, we’re not ready to give up yet.”
