One of Buckinghamshire’s leading grammar schools is just four per cent away from an incredible financial target.
The Aylesbury Grammar School, which is based on Walton Road within the town, set an ambitious goal of £450,000 to refurbish its art, design, and engineering department.
The school has said that the department ‘is in dire need of updating and is no longer fit for teaching and learning the modern curriculum’.
Additionally, the goal is part of the Aylesburian Annual Fund, which helps to finance the short-term needs of the school, as well as enabling to make improvements and to provide opportunities for their students.
So far, the AGS need only £19,001.27 to reach their target, as they are currently on £430,998.73.
An excerpt from their donation page reads: “Our focus this year is on the much-needed refurbishment of our Art/DT and Engineering Building and the fund continues to support our Hardship Fund which helps financially disadvantaged boys to benefit from opportunities at AGS they normally would not have access to.
“Some schools aggressively ask their parents to support them, but we are keen to work in partnership with our community and to clearly explain why we need to ask.
“This doesn't mean that every family has to donate to the school - we know that's not always possible.
“Any contribution is voluntary and any donation, at any value, will have an impact. All the money raised is used to improve the AGS experience for every boy regardless.
“Any contribution, at any level, will help us If you can make a regular contribution, however small, then please set up a regular donation on the next tab.
“Thank you so much for any support you can give.”
