CAMPAIGNERS are pressuring the council to introduce resident parking permits on four roads in High Wycombe to cut down on spaces being taken up by other drivers which they claim is making resident’s lives “unnecessarily difficult”.
A petition is running to persuade Bucks Council to bring in resident parking permits for Jubilee Road, Upper Green Street, Oakridge Road and Abercromby Avenue so people can park closer to home.
The group claim that ever since restrictions were introduced in surrounding roads in the mid-90s parking in these streets has gone up, which they say causes residents some “distress”.

They said the strain is particularly felt by the elderly who might have mobility issues.

“We the undersigned petition Buckinghamshire Council to introduce residents parking permits for Jubilee Road, Upper Green Street, Oakridge Road and Abercromby Avenue, in line with other roads within the area.
“Since the introduction of parking restrictions in the mid-1990s in other surrounding roads, car parking in the above named areas has increased.
“This is now causing residents distress and making our lives unnecessarily difficult. Particularly for the elderly residents who are forced to park away from their homes. Many have mobility issues.”
The petition closes on April 13.
