DAMAGES done to some bollards and a tree by a lorry have prompted one group of residents to call on the highways authority for repairs – adding that they feel HGVs are a “major issue” in the area.
Richings Park Residents’ Association urged Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) to fix three posts and a tree “wiped out” on Bathurst Walk in Iver last week – adding they believe the driver may have come from outside the area.

The group said there are now in total six damaged bollards that they are aware of, adding lorry drivers not local to Bucks are ‘getting lost’ in Richings Park.

Images shared on social media show the bollards cordoned off having been wrenched from the pavement outside Oakwood Estates property company, as well as a nearby tree ripped up by the root.
“Yesterday a vehicle took out three bollards by the shops in Richings Park,” the group tweeted on March 12.
“We now have at least six damaged bollards. When are these scheduled to be fixed @BucksCouncil @tfbalerts?
“HGVs are a major issue on all of our roads. This was from a 44-tonne truck driving through the village.”

“Looks like a tree was also wiped out…articulated lorries have destroyed the area” another person tweeted.

Yet another person replied: “You’ll be lucky – been waiting for ours to be replaced for four years as not a priority.”
The group speculated the driver “most likely” visited the Ridgeway or Court Lane estates in Iver, though that has not been confirmed. Adding: “Plenty of the HGVs are from outside of the area, hence why they get lost in the middle of a housing estate.”

A spokesman for Transport for Buckinghamshire said: “TfB is aware of the damage to the bollards and the tree on Bathurst Walk. The bollards have been made safe and remedial works will be arranged and carried out once the materials needed for the repairs have been delivered.”
