Earlier this week we reported Aldi had unveiled ‘exciting’ plans to open a store on the site of a former car showroom in Amersham.
The supermarket giant has released a computer generated image of what the store might look like.
Aldi is looking to open a supermarket on the site of the former Jaguar dealership in London Road West, between the A413 and A355.
Amersham residents received a feasibility study which directed them to a consultation website where they could see Aldi’s plans for the new store, the next steps and how to get in contact.
The supermarket said it knows customers in Amersham and the surrounding areas are currently travelling out of the area to visit its store.
The consultation website says: “It [Aldi] has wanted to open a local store in Amersham for some time and is delighted to have identified the former Jaguar dealership…as a location.”

If plans are given the go-ahead, there will be 101 parking bays as well as cycle parking and four electric vehicle charging points.
A spokesman added: “These proposals would bring a much-needed discount food store to south Amersham, reducing the need to travel and ensuring the area has sufficient supermarket provision for its existing and future needs.”
The news was welcomed by readers on the BFP social media page.
James Brown wrote: “Just fantastic, really, really pleased,” while Iskra Dimova said: “Brilliant news! It would save me the weekly trip to Wycombe.”
Mick Nurse thought it was a “brilliant idea” while Amy Jones said: “…can’t tell you how excited I’d be.”
Another reader wrote: “Yay, about time too, after the rumours it was going to happen a few years ago.”

On its consultation website, Aldi said it will consider all comments before finalising and submitting plans to Buckinghamshire Council.
It added: “If the planning application is approved, Aldi plans to open as soon as possible.”
