Police seized two dogs believed to be stolen this week.
The animals were rescued from the Aylesbury Vale area yesterday (Tuesday) after being found in “poor conditions” and are now being looked after.
TVP Aylesbury Vale wrote on its Facebook page: “During our patrols as part of the rural crime operation, the Rural NHPT have seized these two dogs due to the poor conditions they were being kept in and a suspicion of them having been stolen.
“They are being cared for by a partner agency whilst further enquiries are conducted.”
It comes after a spate of suspected dognappings in Bucks in recent weeks.
A woman from Wooburn Green revealed she was getting prank calls demanding money after her dog was stolen from her garden three weeks ago.
And Dexter, the red fox Labrador, went missing on January 14 in Beaconsfield, with his devastated owners fearing their beloved pet has been stolen.
Actor Ricky Gervais, who has a home in Marlow, shared the family’s appeal on social media.
Elsewhere, cocker spaniel Bruno, who was stolen from Chalfont St Giles last December, was found dumped in Leeds and has now been reunited with his owners.
