Controversial plans to build 18 new properties in High Wycombe could soon be decided.
The existing three detached two-storey houses at 2-6 Coningsby Road would be demolished and replaced with 18 one and two-bedroom apartments in a single block.
The site sits on the corner of Coningsby Road and Hamilton Road, close to High Wycombe town centre.
The plans had originally been submitted in May of last year, but delays have meant that a decision has yet to be made on the proposal.
An extension to the plan was granted until tomorrow (February 26).
The plans have proved hugely divisive with nearby residents, with a total of 13 objections submitted to the council.
The reasons for the objections include the potential impact of the development on traffic in the area, concerns over pricacy, similar applications being refused in the past, a lack of additional infrastructure to accomondate new residents and the impact on green land in the vicinity.
Arguing why the proposals should be given the green light, developers wrote in the planning documents: "The scheme makes use of a site that it has been recognised has potential to be redeveloped to provide higher density housing in a sustainable town centre location.
"It has been demonstrated that the proposals will not have an adverse impact on local residents and the surroundings as well as having a positive impact on the architectural quality of the junction where it sits.
"Innovative design features have been incorporated to provide parking and amenity space to serve the new apartments as well as providing a high quality internal environment for future residents."
