Beaconsfield MP Joy Morrissey has backed the roadmap out of lockdown set out yesterday by the Prime Minister but has insisted that she will ‘hold’ the government to the promises made.
The new four-step plan looks to see all legal limits on social contact lifted by June 21, but only if strict conditions are met.
The roadmap also sets out dates for which different establishments can open and certain restrictions can be eased.
Shops, hairdressers, gyms and outdoor hospitality could reopen on April 12 under the plans set out.
From May 17, it could be possible for two households to mix inside, whilst the rule of six could apply in places like pubs.
Schools will reopen on March 8 and the Conservative MP believes that children must be prioritised in the reopening of the country.
She said: “I am pleased that the Government has chosen to prioritise children in the roadmap for easing lockdown.
“It is absolutely essential that all children are back in school from the 8th March and that they are allowed to stay there.
“I think it is important that we work with parents and children’s groups, not just teaching unions, to make sure that our sole focus is our children’s future.”

The importance of reopening small businesses was also labelled as essential by the MP to families with local businesses in her constituency.
She continued: “Similarly, getting our small businesses back open is integral to families in my constituency.
“So many people depend on the income from their small business and the support of their child’s school to keep their family life together.
“The Government has made commitments on when these measures will be taken and I intend to hold them to those promises.”
