Plans to inject £4.5m into improving both Aylesbury’s Kingsbury and Market Square was met with frustration from residents who are concerned about the amount of money being proposed.
The design concepts, which emerged from two earlier engagement opportunities, have been shared for a final time before the detailed planning application is submitted.

One resident said on Facebook: “Why don’t they repair all the roads, it’s crazy the amount of pot holes there are.
“They're spending all that money, on your silly garden project when the metal bollards that you’ve put on Churchill Avenue are quite frankly dangerous.
Another added: “Waste of money, better to put the money into better roads as they are disgusting.
"Lower rents for businesses to make Aylesbury a better place to invite new businesses to start up.
“Maybe sort out parking charges, it is much cheaper in Buckingham to park."

Someone else said: “Those fountains were just a waste of time and money!
“Keep it simple, stupid and let people park easier and reduce business rates!
“Especially now with pandemic, small businesses have suffered enough!
“Change parking back to free so one hour so shoppers can run in and grab what they need!”

Some residents also recalled the last improvements made to Kingsbury square were not what was promised to them.
One resident said: “About 14 years ago they spent a vast amount on it and went over budget.
“I'd hate them to spend money again on it so soon.
Whilst another added: “Oh yes because the last revamp of Kingsbury square went amazingly.”
