Parts of Watermead Lake near Aylesbury were either frozen over or were overflowing, following sub-zero temperatures and heavy rain that has hit the county.
Photos that were taken on Wednesday, February 10, show the lake nearly reaching the footpaths which can be accessed by pedestrians, whilst the village’s fountain in the square was completely frozen over.

This comes just a few days after Thames Valley Police officers, who were patrolling the area, noticed that one of the pathways in the village was completely overflown by the torrential downpour that impacted the south of England at the start of this week.
PCSOs Dean and Stephenson were doing a routine patrol of Watermead this morning... Foot patrol was not an option on this...

According to the Met Office, rain isn’t expected to hit Aylesbury or Watermead until Sunday [February 14], but it is due to last the whole afternoon and evening when it does arrive.
