A Bucks-based GP has urged residents in the county and beyond to have the Covid-19 vaccination, after she successfully had the jab.
Dr Nighat Arif, who is based in Chesham, has been a GP in the county for 10 years and has been working on the front line since the start of the pandemic back in March.
After having her jab this month at Aylesbury’s Stoke Mandeville Hospital, she is now calling on anyone who has been invited to have the injection, to do so.

Speaking after her jab to BBC Breakfast, she said: “I’ve had my vaccine and it was completely painless.
“[It was] no different from the flu jab.
“I feel so excited and overwhelmed that I have had the vaccine.
“This feels like I am part of living history.
“Please, when you are called for your vaccine, go ahead and get it as it is the only way we can get out of this situation.”

Figures from www.england.nhs.uk have revealed that around 6,200,000 people have been vaccinated in the country so far, with this number set to increase.
The vaccine was confirmed on January 4 which was the same day when the third lockdown was introduced.
Following the announcement, Prime Minister Boris Johnson set out an explanation of how those who are eligible for the vaccine can have it, and in a tweet that was published on January 23, the former Mayor of London called on those to have their jabs if they are invited to do so, as ‘every jab brings us closer to defeating the virus.’
