THE TIMETABLE for getting a leisure centre swimming pool up and running has been confirmed.
Chalfont Leisure Centre could see its swimming pool replaced within seven months, according to cabinet member for sports and leisure, Cllr Clive Harriss.
Works are necessary owing to ‘subsidence and a leak’, he said.

Other improvements at the centre include new “immersive workout studios”.
Cllr Linda Smith said she was “delighted” by the news.
“I was alerted at the end of last year to the problems with the pool,” she said.
“I started to get emails from concerned residents about whether or not it would be replaced.”

Cllr Harriss said: “The great news is – yes, the funds have been agreed for replacing the pool.
“[A timetable] will be covered every two weeks to ensure there is absolutely no time lost in getting the pool replaced.
“We recognise the pool is the major draw.
“We’re anticipating seven months. The fact there is no one in the property means these works can go on much more quickly.
“We’ve got a new arrangement, whereby you have a big video screen in front of you. We’ve got…electronic dance studios where you do exercises in accordance with various devices that flash on the wall giving you direction.
“I can’t wait for them to open.”
