A 25-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been banned from driving following a crackdown by police.
This was part of a month-long operation by Northamptonshire Police to catch drivers for drink or drug-related offences, as people travelled within the county, as well as North Bucks, during the Christmas and New Year period.
In all, six people were charged with drink driving, with Iulian Zavragiu, of Western Road Milton Keynes, being one of the culprits.
He appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court where he was charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol.
He was given a 12-month driving ban and was ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £239.
Zavragiu was one of five people who were charged with the offence.

The others were:
• Martin Thornton, 50, of Diamond Drive, Irthlingborough, was given a 12-month driving disqualification disqualified and ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £211.
• Ghenadie Bejan, 36, of Harefield Road, Northampton, was given a 17-month driving disqualification and ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £239.
• Clince Joy, 26, of Talbot Road, Northampton, was given a 14-month driving disqualification and ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £199.
• Nathan Leigh, 35, of Rectory Road, Rushden, was given an 18-month driving disqualification and ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £205.

A warrant was also issued for the arrest of Omar Ugur, 48, of Larix Court, Brent, who failed to appear before Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 14.
He was charged with failing to provide a specimen after being stopped by officers on Monday, December 21.
