Mayhall Farm is on Copperkins Lane, just outside Amersham town centre, and is a popular route for dog walkers.
Heavily pregnant sheep that are chased put them in danger of losing their lambs.
The farmer thanked residents for their consideration and reassured dog walkers that the sheep are only grazing for a short period.
The farmer said: “I politely request that all dogs are to be kept on a lead whilst walking near these sheep.

“They are heavily pregnant sheep and will not cope well with being chased.
“The sheep will only be grazing here for a short period and we thank you for your cooperation.
“If you could also let anyone know who may not be able to see this that would be greatly appreciated.”
