It wasn't quite the "band of heavy snow" that the Met Office predicted would fall on Bucks, but nevertheless, the county did wake up to a light covering of the white stuff.
The snow showers seemed to be at their peak while everyone was asleep, with photos from the Bucks Free Press Camera Club showing the scene looking pretty magical at around 5am.
But by 9am, much of the covering seemed to have melted - particularly on the roads and pavements.
The Chiltern Weather Alerts team summed up the situation: "A lot of the hills and high elevated areas had a good covering of snow last night as predicted but unfortunately the wintry mix is now turning to rain very quickly and any snow on the ground will thaw rapidly.
"The rain is due to stick around until lunchtime before it clears away. We may see some sunny spells this afternoon if we are lucky enough. Temperatures will reach 6° by midday."
