This week, we have delved into our archives to bring you pictures of these High Wycombe streets from the 1950s.
Dominated by Plumridge’s Sawmills, this first picture from 1959 looks south-east at terraced houses in Ship Street.
The road looks completely different today, with the Bucks New University building on the right hand side.

This second picture from 1957 shows the view between Desborough Avenue and Short Street, showing shops on the north side of Desborough Road.
A row of shops is still there although it looks a little different today.
