Emergency services rushed to the scene of a residential street in Stone, Aylesbury, earlier this afternoon, following reports of an explosion.
Bucks Fire and Rescue have confirmed that the explosion occured in a bungalow in Bishopstone Road at around 2.25pm this afternoon.
The bungalow subsequently caught fire and a neighbouring property was also damaged.
Three fire engines and crews from Aylesbury, one from Amersham, one from High Wycombe, one from Thame and one from Wheatley attended the scene alongside four officers.
Firefighters used two hose reels, six sets of breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras as they extinguished the fire.
A man was injured and taken to hospital and a woman suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke was assessed by South Central Ambulance Service.
An investigation is taking place into the cause of the fire.
