A LEADING Buckinghamshire councillor was rushed to hospital today after ‘losing a lot of blood’ and feeling “shaky”.
Cllr Mark Shaw, 52, made the alarming announcement on Twitter earlier today (January 4).
The Conservative cabinet member for children’s services wrote: “Being rushed to A&E at Stoke Mandeville in an ambulance.”

Messages of supported soon flooded in.
“Prayers and best wishes,” wrote Cllr John Chilver.
“What’s happened mate?” asked Cllr Steve Bowles.
“Hope you’re okay, Mark. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for you,” replied Chesham Town Council.
“Take care and we hope you are ok. Thinking of you,” wrote The Beaconsfield Society.
“Hope you’re ok,” replied Cllr Isobel Darby.

The father of two later reported ‘losing a lot of blood’ and feeling “shaky”.
Then, this afternoon, Cllr Shaw updated his Twitter feed, saying: “Just got home, my nose was bleeding very heavily and I was getting very shaky.
“Thank you to everyone at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Appointment to see a specialist next.”
“Glad you are ok mate,” replied Cllr Bowles.
A spokesperson for Buckinghamshire Council said: “Cllr Shaw had a nose bleed that wouldn’t stop. He lost a lot of blood so they called the ambulance as there was no way he could drive.
“He did say that the two ambulance men were fantastic, did their stuff and got him to Stoke Mandeville and the team there were great. He is OK now.”
