AN INVESTIGATION is underway to establish whether a councillor is in breach of their Code of Conduct following a social media post.
Buckinghamshire Council confirmed today it has “commenced initial enquiries” into the matter.
The Code of Conduct sets out the ethical standards that our councillors must follow.

The authority started the investigation after complaints were made about a Buckingham Town councillor and a post online.
The council said it would comment further when enquiries are concluded.

“We have received complaints in relation to a Buckingham Town councillor and a post on social media,” a spokesperson for Buckinghamshire Council said.
“Buckinghamshire Council has a statutory responsibility to investigate allegations that parish and town councillors have acted in breach of their Code of Conduct.
“In line with standard procedures we have commenced initial enquiries as to whether the councillor in question has acted in breach of the Town Council’s Code of Conduct.
“No decision or further comments will be made until we have finished our enquiries.”
