A woman found dead in the car park of a Chilterns beauty spot - sparking a murder investigation - has been named.
Carole Wright, 62, from London, was found in the woodland at the Watlington Hill National Trust car park just over the border in Oxfordshire a week ago (October 23).
A man, 23, has been arrested on suspicion of murder but he is currently in hospital with serious injuries.
Carole's family are being supported by specially trained Thames Valley Police officers and they have asked that their privacy is respected.
Detective Inspector Mike Roddy, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Our condolences, thoughts and support is with the family of Carole Wright at this unimaginably traumatic time.
“The force’s thorough investigation continues and searches in Watlington Hill National Trust park are ongoing.
“I would like to thank the local community for their support and cooperation while our officers and staff have been in the area carrying out vital police work to establish the circumstances of what happened to Carole.
“I reiterate our appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in and around the area of Watlington Hill National Trust park last week to contact the force as soon as possible. You can report your information online or call 101, quoting reference 1300 (23/10).
