TWO A-road laybys could be permanently shut off to traffic after “hazardous” waste was dumped there numerous times - including dangerous asbestos.
The laybys off the A355 Amersham Road just north of Beaconsfield could be permanently closed off so no vehicle can park there after a string of fly-tipping incidents.
Buckinghamshire Council wants to put in place a legal order banning motor vehicle access at the two laybys opposite Oldfields Farm and next to Birchen Spring, just past South Lodge.
The council hopes the traffic ban will stop fly-tippers dumping dangerous waste and “ensure the safety of the general public”.
The laybys have been coned off to prevent any vehicles from getting in there after huge piles of rubbish were dumped there previously.
But before the council puts the legal orders in place, it has to ask members of the public what they think.
Therefore, a public consultation was launched on October 14 and will run until October 30.
