The owners of a once-popular High Wycombe pub who are hoping to "bring it back to its former glory" are planning to change its name.
The Bootlegger, under the new management of Wells and Co, is in the process of a huge refurbishment after Wycombe planning officers said yes to their overhaul proposals on February 19.
But new plans put forward to Buckinghamshire Council last week for fresh signage have revealed the owners want to rename the Amersham Hill pub - to Flint Cottage.
Many will remember that this used to be the pub's name before it was The Bootlegger, so it is a nice nod to its past.

If given the go-ahead, the pub will have a teal and grey colour scheme outside, with Flint Cottage written above the entrance.
Wooden panels across the top either side of the entrance will also read 'Wells Brewer & Spirit Merchant'.
The outside of the pub will also feature new brass lighting.
The sign designs also hint at what the revamped pub will offer punters - craft beer, artisan pizza and Sunday roasts, as well as advertising their "great" garden area.
Plans to improve the inside of the pub have already been given the go-ahead. These include minor changes to the upper floor layout to create a flat for the manager, a new opening in the back wall to create an accessible toilet and the opening up of the ground floor chimney stack.
A raised area of floor at the back of the pub and the dated wooden cladding on the walls will be taken out on the ground floor - exposing the original walls.
Modern decking at the side and the back of the pub will be removed so a timber-clad building can be built to provide space for a "catering facility" and an open-sided shelter for customer seating.
New garden surfaces with artificial decking and paving are also in the works.
The Grade II-listed flint building dates from the mid-19th century and is in the High Wycombe Conservation Area.
