A driver angered sleepy Bucks residents by driving around a string of towns with headlights off and the car horn sounding in the middle of the night.
But it looks like they might finally be able to go to bed without fear of a rude awakening - because Thames Valley Police is intending to prosecute someone for alleged driving offences.
Some residents reported on social media that it has happened a number of times in High Wycombe, Loudwater, Chesham, Downley, Little Chalfont and Booker, with the last time being October 7.
One Bellingdon Road resident in Chesham reported hearing someone driving with headlights off and "horn constantly on" at around 3.50am that day, adding: "It did it twice and this is the second time it's happened in a three-week period."
It was also heard on Deansway, Milton Road and Pond Park Road.
One person added: "Woke us up and our one-year-old daughter. Did the same last time."
A driver was also heard doing similar things in the High Wycombe area, with one reporting hearing it in Fassetts Road in Loudwater and in Westover and Plomer Hill in Downley on October 7.
A High Wycombe resident reported: "They went up and down our road three times and then I heard it in the distance. Unfortunately no car details. It's so sad they have nothing better to do and that they think it's a great thing to do. I dare say a lot of us have been awake from 4am today."

Another said: "It’s the second time this week that I’ve been woken up at 4am. Just to make sure I was fully awake this morning, they drove down the road behind me with their horn blaring, then came down our road, I live in Booker."
One tired resident heard the horn three times just after 4.30am, and a Booker resident also reported hearing the driver going up and down their road three times.
But it looks like residents may finally be able to get some peaceful sleep - as Thames Valley Police Chiltern and South Bucks officers revealed they are intending to prosecute someone.
Officers said: "Shortly a vehicle owner will be receiving a Notice of Intended Prosecution for driving offences committed during the early hours of 7th October in Chesham."
