The people of Marlow have praised the town’s bookshop as they celebrated Bookshop Day on October 3.
Bookworms all across the town and beyond visited the award-winning, dog-friendly Marlow Bookshop, where customers bought books and expressed how friendly the staff were, whilst also reiterating the importance of reading.

Speaking on Twitter, Georgia Goodall said: “Lovely visit to Marlow today, made even better by finding an independent bookshop to make a #BookshopDay purchase!
“Thought I'd finally see what all the hype is about with a bit of #WolfHall.”
Alison Barrow said: “Went in. Had a browse. Bought some books. Saturday at @marlowbookshop #BookshopDay.
Stephanie Butland then said: “My last event before lockdown was at @marlowbookshop, where we talked feminism, friendship, and #TheWomanInThePhotograph.

“Readers with dogs especially welcome.”
Prior to lockdown in March, the shop on Spittal Street held regular book nights and in 2019, they won the Muddy Stilettos award for Best Book Shop in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
