FLOOD defences were rolled out at an Aylesbury estate last weekend after non-stop rain overwhelmed properties in the town.
Aylesbury Town Council councillors and residents joined up to deploy the defences at the Willows estate where flooding was particularly bad.

Pictures show volunteers submerged almost to their knees with others donning wellies to keep dry.
In a series of tweets, Aylesbury Town Council said the work carried out by volunteers showed “inspirational community spirit”.
Other parts of Aylesbury Vale were also greatly affected by the weekend’s rainfall.

Aylesbury Vale swimming and fitness centre closed yesterday due to the flooding of its car park.

This service has now resumed, however.
Some Aylesbury roads were closed, too, including Broughton Lane and Penn Road.
