A man was reportedly forced out of his car by a alleged car thief before members of the public blocked the fleeing car in Slough.

At around 10.30am on September 5, a man in his twenties was sitting in his car in Arborfield Close when he was approached by another man who reportedly 'forced him' out of the car.

The car was then driven towards Windsor Road, but members of the public saw this and blocked the cars path.

The driver then reportedly abandoned the car and ran through a property and out onto Windsor Road.

A 42-year-old man from Amersham was arrested in connection with this incident and was released under investigation.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Conor Campbell, based at Slough police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident to please come forward.

“Thank you to those members of the public who offered help at the time. I would ask any of them who have not yet spoken to officers about what happened to get in touch.
