A Great Missenden pub has temporarily closed its doors to customers after staff came into contact with someone who has coronavirus.
The Cross Keys pub will stay shut for a few weeks in a bid to protect customers from the virus after some staff members had contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19.
The team is self-isolating during the closure and staff say they are "devastated" they have had to shut but are doing so to protect their team and customers.
A message on the High Street pub's website reads: "Due to some of our staff being in contact with a confirmed case of Covid, we have made the decision to protect our customers and the community by closing the pub and giving our team time to self-isolate.
"We aim to reopen as soon as possible and thank all our customers for their understanding and continued support.
"See you in a few weeks."
In response to a question from a pub-goer who visited on Tuesday evening but sat outside who asked if they needed to self-isolate, the pub said on Facebook they have "followed all the necessary protocols" and anyone who needs to be contacted has been.
They said: "The track and trace system has very specific parameters and we are confident that all processes have been adhered to.
"As you can imagine we are devastated but have taken the precaution to close the pub to protect our staff, guests and community."
