BUCKINGHAMSHIRE Council’s public health chief has responded to concerns the borough next door to Bucks is at risk of a local lockdown.
The Free Press yesterday reported Dacorum borough was facing the measure after a spike of coronavirus cases in Hemel Hempstead.
EXPLAINED: Local lockdown worry in Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire County Council is now monitoring Covid-19 cases in Dacorum daily following the surge.
Based on this work council bosses will decide whether to enact local powers, which could include a local lockdown.

The Free Press asked Buckinghamshire Council if they were in touch with Herts Council bosses, and if there was any indication the surge of cases next-door could affect the county.
In response, Buckinghamshire Council Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Health Gareth Williams said: “We are aware of the situation and monitoring the position closely through joint working with our neighbouring councils.”
