The driver of an Audi who crashed into a village pub leaving the car embedded into the wall ran away from the scene, police have revealed.
A man in his thirties, who was a passenger in the silver Audi TT that crashed into The Old Bell pub in Town Lane, Wooburn, just before midnight, was rushed to hospital with serious leg injuries.
But the driver of the vehicle decamped and has not yet been found.
No one has been arrested at this stage.
Because of "substantial" damage to the outside wall of the building, police said the road will remain closed until structural engineers assess the damage and make it safe.
Anyone who saw what happened is urged to call police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 43200249756.
They particularly want to hear from anyone who has dash-cam footage of the crash or the manner of driving of the vehicle leading up to the crash.
