A Wycombe fan who won a prize giveaway on Twitter, has kindly asked a national betting company to auction off the football that was used in the Chairboys’ Wembley win against Oxford United on Monday night.

Wanderers achieved the possible dream on July 13, when they defeated Karl Robinson’s men 2-1 at Wembley, meaning they will play Championship football next season.
Following the victory, Sky Bet tweeted: “Calling all @wwfcofficial fans.
“It may have the original date on it, but we have a used official Sky Bet League One play-off final ball to giveaway!

The giveaway was won by Wycombe fan Alex Broom, with Sky Bet saying: “Congratulations to our winner... @AlexBroom_

But instead of direct messaging the betting company, Alex, who is based in Thame, publicly said this on the website: “Sadly back in January a Wycombe supporter passed away attending a match against Blackpool.
“I’m going to ask the squad to sign this ball then auction it off with all the money going to Air Ambulance.”
This is in reference to Wycombe fan Mark Bird, who collapsed at Adams Park on January 28, roughly an hour before the Chairboys’ 2-1 victory against Blackpool was due to kick-off.

The game was delayed for more than an hour.
