The new owners of a club in High Wycombe have revealed exciting plans for an "enchanting" new bar.

Botanic Bar and Garden is launching over the weekend of July 17 and 18 in Pauls Row.

The new bar will eventually be part of the planned Trilogy Nightclub - which used to be Signature before it was taken over - when clubs can safely open again under lockdown rules.

But for now, Botanic Bar and Garden will open its doors from Friday (July 17) at 6pm.

It will then open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6pm.

Andy Thornton, the site director, has shared with the Bucks Free Press some more details about the bar.

He said it will boast a range of gins and cocktails and it will have a secret garden with outside bar and seating.

Its main room will be "elegant" and "floral" with an "enchanting" terrace garden and there is no charge for entry.

Anyone interested in checking the new bar out can book in advance but it is not necessary to do so.

The Bucks Free Press revealed plans to turn the short-lived Signature nightclub into Trilogy back in March.

At the time, residents were confused about what was happening with the town centre club because Signature appeared to have quietly shut down around a year after it opened in 2018.

Before it was Signature, it was the highly-anticipated but ultimately disappointing Cuban-themed Club Havana - another short-lived nightspot.

The building was once the Reggie Goves Community Centre, which was opened by Princess Diana in 1989.

Trilogy was just about to start hiring for bar staff, support staff and VIP team members ahead of its spring opening - but coronavirus made that impossible and now the team are waiting to hear when nightclubs can reopen so they can welcome guests.

But Botanic Bar and Garden is also now hiring for bar and bar support staff to work at the new venue.

There are ongoing efforts to improve the nighttime economy in High Wycombe.

Pauls Row has undergone a huge revamp to make it more attractive, with the likes of Bluegrass BBQ, Heidrun and The Snug, as well as the opening of nearby Lata Lata.

There are currently plans to overhaul the former Wheatsheaf Inn on the High Street into a cocktail bar and The Bell on Frogmoor, which has been empty for a while, could become The Sosh Club.
