The people of Bucks have acted positively to the news that the county and the surrounding areas could get several Lidl supermarkets.
In an article that was published on June 10, the national giants issued a wish list of 100 towns and cities across the country where they would like their new supermarkets to be – 10 of these locations are in Buckinghamshire:

The news has been met with a positive response from those who live in the county.
One person said: “Yes, I would love to see a Lidl opening in Marlow, we need some competition to Sainsbury's.

Another added: “My mother resides in Marlow and would like to confirm she would like to see Lidl come to Marlow,” whilst another user said: “Marlow please - this would be great.”
And even though Flackwell Heath wasn’t included on the list, another online user suggested that the village would be a ‘good’ location as ‘Budgens’ has been empty for years - wasted space.’
Another person who lives in the county added: “I am happy to have a Lidl in Marlow.
“I feel Marlow is the poor relation with supermarkets.
“Beaconsfield has Waitrose, Sainsbury and M&S.
“Henley has Waitrose and Tesco.
“Why cannot Marlow have more choice?”
If the Marlow Lidl were to come to fruition, it will join Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury’s as the town’s major supermarkets.
It was also confirmed that High Wycombe's newest Lidl is set to be completed in the summer of this year.
