Fire teams from Beaconsfield, High Wycombe and Maidenhead attended a blaze at a house in Furlong Close, Bourne End at 6am this morning.
A total of four engines and crews attended, using two hose reels and eight sets of breathing apparatus.
The first floor of the house and the roof were severely damaged by fire - with half of the ground floor damaged by fire and water.
A woman suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke was taken to hospital.
