The owner of a fish and chip shop in Marlow who has admitted that his business is struggling has reopened as lockdown restrictions have been lifted.

The Penguin Fish Bar on West Street in the town closed with hundreds of eateries in Marlow and the surrounding areas due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The shop closed its doors on March 23, the day that lockdown started across the country.

However, they revealed in the Facebook page Marlow Life, that were going to reopen.

In a brief statement on the page, a spokesperson from the fish and chip shop said: “We are open every week from Monday to Thursday and Saturday between 5-8pm an on Fridays from 12pm-2pm and 5-8pm.”

They are the second fish and chip shop in Marlow and the surrounding areas to reopen despite the ongoing pandemic, as Oysters Fish and Chips reopened their doors at the end of April.

Speaking to the Free Press back in March, Kedar Gore, who owns the shop said: “I’m trying to be positive and optimistic in this crisis.”

Additionally, in our exclusive feature on the Penguin Fish Bar in January, Mr Gore admitted that he regularly works around 78 hours a week to keep his business afloat.
