A private hire driver has been praised for a “selfless act of kindness” after coming to the aid of a company who had its van stolen.

Last week, the Bucks Free Press reported how Sabeti Wain Aerospace’s van - which was being used to deliver vital items of PPE to hospitals and those in need - was stolen from its head office in Lane End Road, Sands.

After seeing the shocking story in the paper, John Ridgley, owner of JR-Travel Private Hire in High Wycombe, reached out and offered to help.

He has selflessly volunteered to distribute the PPE Sabeti Wain is making to hospitals, care homes, doctors and hospices on their behalf while their van is gone.

Amy FitzGibbon, from Sabeti Wain, said: “After the devastating events of last week, we are truly humbled that a member of the local community has come to our aid. Without John we would not be able to distribute the vital PPE to the local area on a daily basis.

"At a time where a vast majority of people are struggling these acts of kindness, that have been seen across the country, should be celebrated.

"All of us at Sabeti Wain Aerospace would like to thank John for his selfless act of kindness."
