A Just Giving page has been set up to help a Marlow barber who has closed his shop after 54 years in service.
Richard Silver, who opened his shop in May 16, 1966 with his father, revealed that due to the current coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, as well as his own personal health issues, the barber said he could no longer sustain his business with four months out of work whilst still having to pay business rates and rent.

He has since thanked customers past and present for their support over the years.
However, one Marlow resident has decided to give Richard the send-off his deserves by setting up a Just Giving page to help the much-loved barber out.
Dave Pering, who regularly visited Richard’s shop, set up the page on May 11 when the news was announced.
On the Just Giving page, Dave said: “We’re raising £500 to help Richard Silver who after 54 years serving Marlow, has unexpectedly had to close his barbershop due to illness and the Covid-19 lockdown.
“Let’s all give Richard one last haircut payment to help him in his enforced retirement.

“My last haircut there cost me £9 as a guide but any amount would be gratefully received.
“Thank you and let's support this legend."
Speaking about Richard, Dave added: “You are a Marlow legend.
"You cut my hair in 1970 and through to 2020.
"Thank you, Richard.”
