A Marlow councillor has been delivering some of Tom Kerridge’s meals to the vulnerable.
Conservative Suzanne Brown has travelled up and down Marlow and Marlow Bottom, giving those in need some of the celebrity chef’s dishes, which include venison chilli, pasta and lamb casserole.
The Meals for Marlow scheme was launched at the start of the month where Tom and his team set up a Go Fund Me page to get the ball rolling, and within five days, £100,000 was raised.
So far, over £150,000 has been donated to the cause.

Speaking to the Free Press, Suzanne, who works at the town’s Age Concern branch said: “I was phoning the guests to make sure that they were OK before we were then offered the meals.
“I then thought that would be great as I could then deliver a meal and can see them face to face, rather than doing it over the phone.
“And it’s a relief for them to see a human being.
“Yes, the technology is brilliant at the moment because things such as Zoom, House Party and Facetime are great for you to communicate with your family and friends.
“But it can’t beat seeing another human being.
“Obviously, we are well away, we leave the meal, ring the doorbell, we stand back and we have a good old chat and you realise how lonely some of these people.
“But they are very grateful to see you, even if they don’t like the meal as the meal is whatever we get that day.”
As well as delivering to the elderly, the councillor Brown also revealed that several meals are being donated to several schools in the area, as some teachers are still working as they are teaching the children of key workers.

Suzanne continued: “Somebody told me the other day that they hope everything goes back to normal to which I replied, I really hope we don’t.
“What I mean by that is that, the normal isn’t the normal that it used to be - it’ll be the normal that we’ve learnt to.
“This is because people like captain Tom are doing amazing things, that they most likely wouldn’t have done if we had this awful thing.
“So why does it have to be an awful thing for us to do these things?”
