A car park that has been neglected since a Flackwell Heath supermarket shut down could be turned into nine homes if new plans are given the green light.
The old car park on Old Kiln Lane – which is privately owned but was largely used by shoppers at the former Budgens store for many years – has been empty and unused since the shop shut down seven years ago.
Now, developers have decided they want to put nine new homes on the site – four semi-detached houses and five flats.

Last month, plans to overhaul the former Budgens shop into stores, flats and offices were given the go-ahead by councillors at Wycombe District Council, but at the time they lamented that the car park could not be used as part of that application to provide much-needed parking.
This month, Revere Developments submitted plans to turn that car park into a housing estate. None of the homes will be classed as affordable housing.
The car park is surrounded on three sides by homes, but developers say new trees will be planted on the site.

The four houses will have three bedrooms, while the five flats will each have two bedrooms. All of the houses will have 10-metre gardens and the flats will have balconies.
The block of flats, which will be three-storeys high, will be positioned closest to the back of Aries House, where the parade of shops is, because that is also three-storeys tall.
There will be parking spaces for 18 cars, with bike and bin storage provided on the ground floor of the flats.
In their plans, the developers said that while building homes on the site will mean it can never be used as a car park, the new owners have no legal requirement to make it available for public use.
They added that there is already plenty of parking nearby, with a car park on Straight Bit, as well as plans for 32 spaces as part of the old Budgens redevelopment.
However, Flackwell Heath councillors have in the past complained that parking is a “nightmare” in the village already.
