Thames Valley Police have confirmed that a body was recovered from a lake in Aylesbury this morning.
At around 6.30am this morning, officers received reports of a body in the water from a member of the public at Watermead Lake.
A woman’s body was recovered from the lake and a scene watch is currently in place which is due to be lifted shortly.
The police have confirmed that the woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Dale Price, of Area CID based at Aylesbury, said: “Today a member of the public has made the sad discovery of a deceased woman, in the water at Watermead Lake.
Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time.
“At this time the woman’s death is being treated as unexplained whilst we continue to make our enquiries.
“We would ask anyone with information that could assist in these enquiries to please come forward and call 101 quoting reference 200 13/4/20.”
