Buckinghamshire Recycles has issued a statement urging people to not light garden fires during the current coronavirus pandemic.
This is comes after the spread of smoke could seriously damage the health of those with respiratory problems.
Having Covid-19 will seriously impact your breathing with many patients being put on a ventilator to require oxygen.
In a brief statement on Facebook, Buckinghamshire Recycles said: “Please don't light garden fires during the coronavirus pandemic.
“As well as the danger of it getting out of control, there are people in the community living with respiratory problems which could be made worse if exposed to bonfire smoke.
“We know it's not easy at the moment, but please compost your garden waste where possible, and stack or bag up rubbish for disposal when the current emergency is over."
Globally, 1,447,454 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, whilst internationally, 83,401 people have died from Covid-19.
