This week for Then and Now, we are in and around West Wycombe Road in High Wycombe.
This first picture was taken way back in circa 1890 and shows the section of West Wycombe Road from the east end of Nutfield Lane towards Oakridge Road.
Although the roads have been clearer since the lockdown, it is hard to imagine the busy road this empty.

You can see Downley in the background of this picture from circa 1932.
It was taken at the junction with Kitchener Road and Oakridge Road.
The once-sweeping road is much narrower with parked cars lining both sides now.
