It is rumoured that Marlow could be the latest town in the UK to get an Everyman Cinema.
The news came about after councillor Suzanne Brown revealed the potential plans on Marlow FM, but she told the Free Press that, ‘there are no plans at the moment as it’s gone a bit quiet’.
It is believed that a planning application to Wycombe District Council will be submitted by the cinema giants.
It is also alleged that the potential cinema will be built on the former Market Hall/Crown Hotel/Steamer Trading Company premises, which will see it turn into a two-screen cinema with sofas and a bar.

The space has been used as a single screen pop-up cinema in the past, most notably by Tom Kerridge, but the space is currently empty with ‘to let’ signs on display.
There are currently 33 Everyman Cinemas in the UK, with one of them being in Gerrards Cross.
Michael Eagleton, who presented the show where councillor Brown revealed the news, said: “It is also rumoured that the former Assembly Hall is historic and has some restrictions on major alterations, but the opinion is that a planning application from the cinema group would be looked upon favourably as it would be an asset to the town.

“I am assuming one screen would be downstairs and one up.”
Councillor Suzanne Brown then added: “We did have a presentation about it with Bucks County Council but as of yet, there are no plans at the moment as it’s gone a bit quiet

“But it would be great for the town to have a cinema.
“We’re hoping to hear from Everyman soon as there has been a lot of talk about a new cinema for the town, and a cinema in Marlow would be fantastic.”
