Travellers have moved onto the site of the former Homebase site on London Road in High Wycombe.
The store, which will be turned into a Lidl, has been unused since the Homebase store closed last year.
After a spell of traveller sites being set up last year, Wycombe District Council were granted additional powers to speed up the eviction of illegal travellers encampments across more than 100 sites in the district – but only ones they own.
The High Court granted an injunction on in August which means council officers and police can now order groups to leave much more quickly.
The former Homebase site is private land – so it is unclear when the caravans may be moved on.
