Nominations are now open for this year’s Chiltern District Council Community Awards.

The awards will take place on March 12 at King’s Church in Amersham.

This is a chance to recognise the volunteers and community champions who help with a variety of issues in the local area.

The award categories are:

• Group-for a group who have worked voluntarily to benefit the Chiltern community and/or it's environment

• Community Champion- for those aged 25-65 years who have shown commitment, dedication and enthusiasm to benefit and enhance community life in Chiltern

• Older and Bolder- for an individual over the age of 65 years who has made a significant and beneficial contribution to the community in Chiltern

• Young Volunteer- for a person up to the age of 25 years who has voluntarily worked, giving their time, skills and talent to the benefit of the community in Chiltern

• Healthy Living- for an individual or group who voluntarily promote and encourage healthy living and stand out as a champion for health and wellbeing in the Chiltern community.

• Eco Ambassador- for a person or group who have worked voluntarily to protect the environment and tackle climate change.

• Business in the Community- for recognition of a business which supports community groups or, on its own initiative, makes a positive contribution to benefit and enhance community life in Chiltern.

• Front Line Services- for a group or individual who voluntarily serve Chiltern community via front line services- i.e. medical, hospital, military, police, fire and rescue.
