A group of knitting enthusiasts from Little Chalfont have got together to make a knitted Christmas tree.

The Knit & Knatter Group, who congregate at the village’s library every week, usually knit items such as hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets for babies, as well as making hats and scarves for sailors.

They also make Twiddlemuffs for dementia patients.

The group also recently knitted 50 blankets for a London-based hospital, whilst also knitting for the homeless.

The knitters, who are all women aged between 35 to 90, enjoyed creating the Christmas tree as it stands proudly in the village’s library.

The group funds events and lunches by raffles in celebration of being together and has won the Skipton Grass Roots Giving award to community groups twice.
