A proposal to redevelop a building in Marlow’s Globe Business Park has been given the go-ahead.
The Former Koppers site, which is on Fieldhouse Lane, will be redeveloped into semi-detached warehouse units which will be used for storage, distribution and trade counter use.
The redevelopment will also come with mezzanines, associated servicing, parking and landscaping.
The plans were given the green light on October 29, but it is not known who will use the new units.
In the planning document, the developers stated: “The existing buildings which are to be demolished are a mixture of single storey industrial buildings and covered loading bay/storage areas.
“The existing buildings are surrounded by concrete and tarmac yards.
“The site is secured by walls, fences and a vehicle barrier. The adjacent three storey office is outside of the applicant’s ownership and is to be retained.
“HGV access to the adjacent office site is to be provided via Fieldhouse Lane.”
The site, which is situated to the east of Marlow town centre at the rear of Globe Business Park, will have several car park spaces provided at the front of the two units once they are completed.
Both units will also have a service yard to the front to accommodate a loading area, lorry manoeuvring and car parking.
The two units will be also have disabled access and facilities for those who are immobile, with parking being provided adjacent to the main entrance of each unit.
Car parking will be located within each service yard, immediately outside each unit with 10 per cent of spaces at the soon-to-be new development being only accessible for electric cars and other electric vehicles.
Additionally, bicycle parking bays and bike racks will be provided within each unit using Sheffield type cycle hoops.
The planning application also revealed: “In response to planner’s concerns expressed during the pre-application process, the rear elevation includes a step and a combination of light and dark grey cladding to reduce the bulk and minimise overbearing when viewed from Fieldhouse Way.
“To further reduce the visual impact from Fieldhouse Way, climbing plants have been added to the rear fence.”
