Dazzling Glitterball in Gerrards Cross raised £20,000 for charity.
A Glitter Ball was held at the Crowne Plaza in Gerrards Cross by the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation's PR and marketing agency MANDATE, which raised £20,000.
The glamorous event on October 25 was attended by over 250 guests and hosted by the eccentric drag queen Milo Miles.
There was a buffet, complimentary drinks, a live band, an auction and a silent auction with all proceeds going to the foundation.
The HNFC is devoted to raising awareness of head and neck cancer as well as financing research into new treatments, especially trying to minimise the aesthetic impacts that come as a result of surgery.
Michelle Vickers, CEO, said: “We raise awareness, we train people to use the equipment and we provide the equipment, and I can tell you that every penny raised tonight will go towards that.”
Some of the items on offer and sold at the live auction were a signed Wayne Rooney football boot, a signed Ronaldo shirt and various different pieces of art.
The silent auction offered luxury holidays and experiences such as trips to Budapest and Venice.
Michelle also gave a speech at showed a powerful video presentation at the event which highlighted the work they do through speaking to those who have been helped by the work the charity do.
The presentation also included a video of how to check your mouth for signs of cancer which can be seen below.
One attendee said: “The glitterball was such a fun filled event made even better by knowing your money will be supporting such a great charity, whose work really is changing lives.
“As someone who wasn’t entirely sure what head and neck cancer was prior to this event it’s good to know that raising awareness is a big priority of the foundations.”
